Since 1945, the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) has brought together children and books to celebrate Book Week and shine a light on Australian authors and illustrators.
Book Week 2022 is a time for schools, libraries, booksellers, authors, illustrators and children to celebrate Australian children's literature. Our CBCA Book Week activities make it easy to provide fun literacy activities before and after your Book Week Parade and focus exclusively on this years theme.
The Book Week 2022 theme "Dreaming With Eyes Open" acknowledges Australia's First Nations People and their rich story based culture. Darug woman Jasmine Seymour won the CBCA New Illustrator Award in 2020 for her beautiful picture book 'Baby Business' and Jasmine produced all of the poster artwork in Dreaming With Eyes Open too! In the video, Jasmine introduces her new artwork and shares the story of why she created these images.
