Frugal Fred Book
My book, Frugal Fred, is here and people are loving it. To celebrate the release we are offering all new members who join in August a FREE copy of the book including postage. We are also giving away 5 copies to current Premium or Free members.
To enter the draw you just need to add a comment to any blog post or resource on the site before the end of August.
This will help people know how awesome the resources are and help us grow the Learn From Play community even more. I would love to see 10,000 members on the site by the end of this year and would love your help in making this happen.
To help me achieve this can you please send me photos of activities your students have completed from the site. We will add these to our Facebook page to let other teachers see how they can use these in their classroom. We don't need to see your kid's faces but would love to see our resources in action.
If you have not ordered your copy of Frugal Fred yet you can still get a copy for the discounted price of $10 + flat rate postage until the end of August. Click on the cover image below and use the code FrugalPrice to save $6.95 off the recommended retail price. Click on the resource spread to see all 14 activities for the book.
This week's blog on Gamifying Spelling is the final instalment in the series on gamifying spelling. It is about a group memory game to introduce or practise student's spelling words. Click the image below to read the full article on how this game can make spelling fun for your class and get them physically active at the same time. Next week's blog will be about gamifying Maths although there are some spelling tips in there too.
Kwen Cansancio, the very talented illustrator for Frugal Fred, creates all the posters on the Learn From Play website. This is her latest poster to brighten up your classroom. This is free for Premium and Poster level members and who wouldn't want a chocolate, lolly, cookie poster to brighten their room.
Film School For Teachers
Unfortunately our Teacher Film School has been slightly delayed due to technical issues but your students can learn all about film with the kids version. If you are in NSW this is 100% free thanks to the Government's Creative Kids $100 grant. Follow the instructions below to access your grant and the course. We will definitely have the Teacher Film School on the site in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned for more news on that.
As always if you have any questions, feedback or content suggestions send them to me and please help us grow our Learn From Play teaching community by sharing the site with your colleagues so everyone can benefit.
We love to hear from parents, teachers, librarians, authors, fellow content creators, designers and anyone else who has something positive or constructive to tell us about our site and our resources; Contact us.
