National Simultaneous Storytime 2022

National Simultaneous Storytime is in its 22nd big year! On this special day, students and teachers all read the same book, fostering a sense of community and excitement around reading. It's the perfect way to get your kids excited about books and learning!

Almost 2 million readers participated last year and once again, you can extend the fun beyond the book with Learn From Play book activities below!

As the official book activity provider for NSS 2021 and 2022, we are delighted to be partnered again with Scholastic and the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). 

Free Book Activities

This year, we’re excited to be reading ‘Family Tree’ by Josh Pyke and Ronojoy Ghosh. We have produced 20 book activities to accompany the NSS 2022 official reading picture book which follows a newly planted seedling and a family as they both set down roots and grow. 

VIP members can download all activities and free members can access three fun, educationally sound activities along with three themed interactive online games for young learners to enjoy. Dress up your classroom and craft your own family tree themes. National Simultaneous Storytime is a day to celebrate literacy and build the foundations for a life-long love of reading in your young learners.
