Book Activities for Just One Bee by Margrete Lamond and Anthony Bertini
A CBCA 2022 shortlisted Picture Book of the Year this is the story of one bee who worked against opposition and incredible odds to create a field of flowers and save the human race from extinction. A poignant message for children of all ages about the importance of bees to the survival of humans and their place in the delicately balanced ecosystem of food production.
The team at Learn From Play have created 6 activities for this book which cater for children from Foundation to High School. They are a complex maze like the One Bee had to fly to get pollen to the second flower it saw, an activity to draw a bee like the one in the book with such big eyes to help it find other bees and flowers, a cut and paste lifecycle of a bee, the steps to pollenate a flower, instructions to make a felted bee and an origami bee.
