Book Activities for Little Book, Big Universe
A non-fiction text from Professor Lisa Harvey-Smith this book provides everything you need to explore Australia's night skies – except a telescope. Full of interesting facts about our universe, time travel and planet hunting this book also explains how to take amazing photos in the dark. There is comic relief provided by aptly named but completely unrelated newspaper illustrator First Dog On The Moon.
As the book is all about space, space travel and exploring the stars above and below us we have designed 6 Space themed activities including a cut and paste moon phases activity, a colourful chalk drawing of the Aurora Australis, a cartesian plane map of some constellations, an intergalactic colour by number, a code breaking riddle to solve and a planetary crossword to test how well the book was read.
