Book Activities for Walk Of The Whales by Nick Bland

This 2022 CBCA short listed early childhood book is a beautifully illustrated look at what pollution of the sea is doing to whales and how they would escape if they could. Perfect for children of any age from pre-school or kindergarten to teenagers studying pollution solutions and how to get the world to listen to their message.

The team at Learn From Play have made 6 activities for this book to cover a range of ages including an early years simple text engagement activity to look at rhyming words, a true and false activity to learn more about whales, designing a poster to help clean up the ocean, whale making origami instructions, a spot the difference of rubbish in the sea and a comprehension to learn more about blue whales.

You might like to explore other whale conservation related books such as Nelson's Dangerous Dive by Ellie Jackson to show students how they can help protect whales.

The games below are advertisement free and will open in a new window. They can be played by children online as many times as they like. The Match Up Memory Card Game will allow children to improve their memory while the Maze Game lets them develop strategy and problem solving skills while having fun.
